Impreza is designed to ensure protection and comfort, offering greater passenger and cargo space, with an impressive array of easy to use features. Standard features include power steering, windows and mirrors, air-conditioning and an AM/FM/RDS radio/CD entertainment system, which is MP3/WMA/iPod compatible.

A height adjustable and telescopic steering column and ample seat adjustments ensure optimum driver comfort. The ring-shaped reinforced safety cell with six airbags contributes to great collision protection and the maximum five-star occupant safety rating from the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP).

Versatility and space

Impreza's clever design provides flexible cargo capacity. Hatches are fitted with a retractable cargo security blind to protect property from prying eyes. The versatility of the 60/40 split rear seats in both hatch and sedan provide more cargo carrying options. The rear cargo area mat and rear seat back form a seamless cover when both seats are lowered.

Entertainment

Entertainment takes centre stage. Impreza R offers a four-speaker single CD player that is also MP3/WMA/iPod compatible and includes an AM/FM tuner. The rest of the Impreza range features a six-stack 10-speaker surround sound system. The centre console box includes an auxiliary jack socket so you can plug in your iPod and listen to your favourite songs. Multi-functional satellite navigation2 with Bluetooth functionality is optional on the Impreza RS and Impreza WRX.

Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive

Engine

The horizontally opposed Subaru Boxer engine has a low centre of gravity and provides smooth linear acceleration and responsiveness. It is tuned for mid-range torque as well as top-end power, designed to optimise fuel efficiency and power output. Combined with the benefits of Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, it delivers a dynamic driving experience.

Performance

Electronically controlled SPORTSHIFT automatic transmissions SPORTSHIFT is a feature of every automatic transmission Impreza. There are three modes available for the driver. Full automatic operation for everyday driving, Sport mode for maximum automatic sports performance and driver controlled SPORTSHIFT.

It allows greater flexibility to suit your driving style and means pulling power is always easily accessible. SPORTSHIFT takes into account cornering, braking and acceleration in making optimum gear selection and torque delivery to the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system. Subaru automatic transmissions provide excellent shift quality and allow you to maximise fuel economy.
